Training programme
Our approach to training for rights-based law such as the Freedom of Information Act provides a flexible approach for specific target audiences. We can arrange the following:

• Cross authority – hosted by volunteer authorities who invite their neighbours. (Training for middle managers and Elected Members)
• In-house / tailored – for authorities that want staff trained to a tailored learning package at different levels of the organisation, for example:

- Executive level
- Middle managers / information management
- Awareness raising for all other staff
- Briefings, videos, memocards, newsletter articles, authority intranet.

Products
Products that are derived to deliver the above programme:

• Training courses – including detailed lesson plans with learning outcomes that can be properly evaluated.
• BT (or similar) Video – to be used for briefing purposes but used in a structured way to ensure understanding and total coverage of all staff.
• Memocards – to be compiled to show the key points of the Freedom of Information Act and could be issued to all staff at very low cost.

Management Consultancy:
We can also assist in other areas of consultancy, for example:

• Auditing
• Programme / Project management for public authorities
• Advice / support for knowledge and information management

We have experience and expertise in the following areas:

• Advice / consultancy on Human Resource and Training strategies, policies, practices and procedures relating to the Freedom of Information Act 2000
• Auditing or assisting in auditing policies, practices and procedures for compliance with rights-based law of all types including openness, transparency and confidentiality
• Compiling a ‘policy on policies’ for the persons writing strategies and policies relating to the Freedom of Information Act to ensure compliance with appropriate legislation and national strategies

Approach to Quality
The programme will be managed to established quality assurance procedures. Key features of the procedures are:

• Rigorous recruitment, selection and training of consultants, to ensure that they have the necessary skills and experience for the task, and are regularly updated on policy developments and changes to programme priorities
• Critical review of draft publications and lesson plans by subject specialists and expert advice from appropriate sources
• Evaluation forms used to determine the level of user satisfaction with learning and training events
• Key performance indicators will be developed and agreed to effectively measure performance and outcomes of projects.
